Assets The Rosenberg Foundation endowment is invested in a diversified and actively managed portfolio of stocks and bonds, consistent with Rosenberg Foundation's fiduciary duties under law. A small part of the Foundation's endowment is invested in mutual funds and venture capital partnerships. The Foundation's investments had a total market value of $60.1 million on December 31, 2005.

Payout Federal law requires that each private foundation spend no less than five percent of the market value of its assets in grants and operating expenses each year. The directors of Rosenberg Foundation have chosen to distribute more each year than federal law requires. The policy of the Foundation is to limit spending to an average of 5.5% of assets annually in order to maintain the real value of the Foundation's endowment over time.
